Junior Safety Greg Koch is Named to the Football Gazette Division III All-American Football Team

koch_head.jpgBEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College junior safety Greg Koch (Olmsted Falls High School) has been named as a 2002 second-team Football Gazette Division III All-American. Previously, Koch was tabbed as an honorable mention Hewlett-Packard Division III All-American team selection.

The honor by the Football Gazette ends a great season for Koch. He was a first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference pick and a first-team All-North Region choice by the Football Gazette. At B-W, Koch was the Ray E. Watts Most Valuable Defensive Player and the B-W Most Outstanding Defensive Back.

In 2002, Koch led the Yellow Jackets in tackles and interceptions. He had a team-leading 84 tackles and five interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He also had 14 pass breakups to tie for first on the team, a quarterback sack and four tackles for losses of 10 yards.

"Greg Koch had an outstanding season," said first-year Yellow Jacket Head Coach John Snell. "He deserves all of the accolades in which he is receiving. He will return in 2003 as one of our key players."
