BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College senior guard Sarah Gordon (Wooster Senior High School) has been named as this week's Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her efforts last week in victories against Mount Union College (92-63) and Muskingum College (92-61).
For the week, Gordon canned 17 of 26 shots from the floor for 65.4 percent, including four of nine from three-point range, grabbed 11 rebounds, passed for eight assists and made four steals. She scored a season-high 20 points in her first start of the season in the win versus Mt. Union, and had a team-high 18 points in the win versus Muskingum.
For the season, Gordon is third on the team in scoring with 11.3 points per game. She is canning 51.6 percent of her field goals (81 of 157), 50 percent of her three-pointers (27 of 54) and 72.2 percent of her foul shots (26 of 36). Gordon is also grabbing 3.3 rebounds per game, is first with 22 blocked sots, fourth with 49 assists and tied for fourth with 18 steals. In her last three games, Gordon is averaging 18.7 ppg.
Gordon and the 14th-ranked Yellow Jacket women, 17-2 overall and 10-2 in the OAC, will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Tiffin to play OAC rival Heidelberg College at the Seiberling Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m. B-W is also ranked second in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Region.
