Career Stats

ATHLETIC HONORS:   As a senior, Dave was selected to play in the OhioCollegeFootball.com Senior Bowl on April 14, 2012 in Columbus, Ohio.

GENERAL NOTES & OTHER INFORMATION:  Dave Cantu played four seasons of football at Baldwin-Wallace College and earned three varsity letters. After playing his freshman season (2008) on the junior varsity squad and dressing for a few varsity games, he served mainly as the kickoff specialist as a sophomore (2009), junior (2010) and senior (2011) seasons.  He was one of the best kickoff specialists in the Ohio Athletic Conference.  He served briefly as the Yellow Jacket placekicker as a senior and connected on two-of-three field goal attempts and five-of-nine extra point attempts.

CAREER AMBITION:  Dave would like to be a sports broadcaster. He has worked the past two years (2010-12) for the broadcasting department for the Cleveland Indians as an intern. He has contributed digital media for scoreboard and broadcast entities.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Dave also served the College and football program as a video/ highlight coordinator. A number of his highlight films were utilized both on the College web site and on its Facebook page.

HIGH SCHOOL BACKGROUND AND INFORMATION:
  David played four years of football, earning three varsity letters. David also played freshman basketball and ran track for two years, earning two varsity letters.  As a senior in football in 2007-08, David earned first-team All-Southwestern Conference honors, Special Teams Player of the Year for Steele, and was a member of the Lorain County All-Star Team.  Dave averaged 55 yards per kickoff and kicked a season long 44 yard field goal.
