Conference Clyde Lamb Award Honorees
BEREA, OHIO - Recent Baldwin-Wallace College graduates and senior two-time football Academic All-American Joe Harbour (Upper Sandusky) and senior basketball All-American and Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Year Erika Schultz (Waterville/ Anthony Wayne) have been named as B-W's honorees for the 2004 OAC Clyde Lamb Award. The OAC honors a male and female student-athlete from each school with the Clyde Lamb Award symbolizing each as the top student-athlete at their respective school. Joe Harbour played four years of football and earned four varsity letters in addition to maintaining a 3.919 grade point average in history. He intends on teaching and coaching at the high school level.
Harbour was a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, including being a first-team choice in 2003 when he led the Yellow Jackets to a 10-2 record and into the second round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs. He was a three-time Academic All-OAC and three-time CoSIDA Academic All-District IV selection, including being tabbed to the first-team as a junior and senior. As a junior, Harbour was also a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-America choice. During his four years at B-W, the Yellow Jackets had a 30-12 record and Harbour served as a starter each year.
Harbour was a Dean's List student and a member of both the Alpha Lambda and the Dayton C. Miller honor societies. As a senior, Harbour received the Lee J. Tressel Academic Award at the football banquet and was the recipient of the Phi Alpha Theta Scholarship at Honor's Day. He was also involved in Athletes-in-Action.
Erika Schultz played four years of basketball and helped the Yellow Jackets win two OAC regular season titles, an OAC Tournament crown and advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament twice, including an "Elite Eight" finish as a freshman. During her four-year career, Schultz led B-W to a 97-18 record.
Individually, Schultz scored 1,014 points to rank 10th all-time at B-W and grabbed 715 rebounds to finish sixth. As a senior, she was an honorable mention WBCA/ Kodak All-American, the 2004 OAC Helen Ludwig Women's Basketball Most Valuable Player Award winner, B-W's three-time winner of the Most Valuable Defensive Player Award, its Top Rebounder Award winner three times (2000-2001, 2001-2002 and 2002-2003), as the Most Valuable Player of the Greater Cleveland Tipoff Tournament and as an OAC Player of the Week. As a junior in 2002-2003, Schultz was named to the OAC Tournament all-tournament team.
In the classroom, Schultz was a Dean's List student who is also a member of the Alpha Lambda Honor Society and the Dayton C. Miller Honor Society. She is a member of the Teaching Together Group, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and is an intramural supervisor. Schultz carried a 3.769 grade point average. As a senior, Schultz was named as a unanimous first-team Acdemic All-OAC and third-team CoSIDA Academic All-District IV selection.
