BEREA,OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College sophomore cross country runner Ashley Scullion (Kentwood, Mich./ East Kentwood) placed in the middle of the field at the NCAA Division III National Cross Country Championship Meet, hosted by Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.
Scullion ran a time of 25:20 and placed 144th out of 279 runners. She is the first runner since 2002 to advance to the national cross country championship meet. Scullion finishes the year having earned both All-Ohio Athletic Conference and All-Great Lakes Region honors with second and 16th place finishes, respectively. Now she will turn her attention to the track where she looks to improve upon her record-breaking performance in the 1-mile run.
In the past, the womens cross country team's highest placing was an eight place finish in 2002 followed by a 12th place finish in 2000.
