BEREA, OHIO - The women's cross country team finished in fourth place and the men in sixth at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships this afternoon (Nov. 1) held at Wilmington College. The top finisher for the women was senior Jennifer Southall (Willoughby/South) whose time of 23:18.72 was good enough for fifth place overall and All-OAC honors. The fourth place finish ended B-W's streak of conference championships at four.
Along with Southall, the women were led by junior Lisa Bartkiewicz (Berea) who finished 13th in a time of 24:09.26, senior Tautm Gruskiewicz (Williamsfield) finished right behind Bartkiewicz in 14th in 24:21.34, junior Jamie Luketic (Rootstown) finished 16th in 24:28.43, and freshman Rihana Knotts (Middletown) finished 20th in 24:36.67 to round out the top five runners for B-W.
The men's team was led by freshman Chris Buhovecky (Brunswick/Padua) whose time of 27:05.04 was good enough for 19th place.
The Yellow Jackets are off until Saturday, November 15th when they will compete at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional in Hanover, Indiana.
