BEREA, OHIO--The Baldwin-Wallace College women's cross country team finished second and the men finished fifth at the University of Rochester Invitational this afternoon. Division III school SUNY- Geneseo (NY) took both meet titles. The B-W women were second of seven schools overall with 37 points, and the men were fifth of eight schools with 121 points.
Individually for the women, Yellow Jacket senior Jessica Textoris (Akron/ Medina Highland High School) finished 3rd overall with a time of 23:01. Fellow seniors Nicole Drouhard (Canfield/Austintown Fitch H.S.), Lynn Katanik (Parma/Padua H.S.), and Tara Gruskiewicz (Willamsfield/Pymatuming Valley H.S.) were the next Jacket finishers at sixth, seventh, and eighth respectively. Other Jackets who finished in the top 30 were junior Jennifer Southall (Willoughby/South H.S.) in 14th place with a time of 23:56.00. Junior Stacey Havaich (Austintown Fitch H.S.) finished in 20th at 24:41 and sophomore Lisa Bartkiewicz (Berea H.S.) finished in 21st with a time of 24:42. Finishing 27th-30th were senior Jen Dunlap (Concord/Painesville Riverside H.S.), sophomore Jenny Luketic (Rootstown H.S.), junior Tatum Gruskiewicz (Williamsfield/Pymatuming Valley H.S.), and junior Tara Perry (Brookpark/Berea H.S.).
For the men, senior Brad Geletka (Kirtland H.S.) finished 6th overall with a time of 26:47. Other high finishers for the Jackets were junior Bob Magyar (Lyndhurst/Brush H.S.) was 21st at 27:38, senior Mike Miklavcic (Euclid H.S.) was 24th, senior Matt Gitterman (Lewiston, New York/Porter H.S.) finished 36th, freshman Kevin Andrzejewski (Eastlake H.S.), freshman Mike Randolph (Galion H.S.), and junior Jason Ream (Burton/Berkshire H.S.) finished 40th-42nd respectively.
The Yellow Jacket men and women will have a much needed week off before competing in the OAC Championships on Nov. 2nd at Otterbein College in Westerville. The start time will be 11:00.
