WOOSTER, OHIO --  Junior Ken Janosko (Mentor) won the four-mile run as the Baldwin-Wallace College cross country team opened its 2011 season tonight (Thursday, September 1) at an unscored meet hosted by The College of Wooster Invitational Meet at the L.C. Boles Memorial Golf Course in Wooster.

Janosko led the men as he completed the four-mile course in 21:36.89 and was followed by the senior trio of Zachary Szablewski (Tiffin/Calvert) in fifth with a time of 22:18.74, Tom Wilkin (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) in eighth and Brian Gibbons (Rocky River) in 22nd.  The times posted by all four Yellow Jacket runners were career bests.  In the 5K junior David Gerding (Strongsville) led the way for the Yellow Jackets finishing fourth in a time of 17:33.38.  Following him was freshman Greg Blevins (Mentor) in fifth with the time of 17:38.28, senior Drew Beck (Canandaigua Academy) in eighth with the time of 18:17.90, sophomore Stephen Humbert (Middletown/Lakota East) in 13th, and freshman Issac Baker (Lithia, Fla./Newsome) in 20th.

Junior Sarah Rospert (Milan/Edison) led the women as she completed the five thousand-meter course in 20:32.38, finishing third overall. She was followed by sophomore Jaime Clapacs (Willoughby Hills/Willoughby South) finishing ninth with the time of  27:17.15, junior Tess Hoogeveen (Westerville/South) in tenth, sophomores Lauren Hutka (North Ridgeville/Midview) in 13th, Blair Vrcan (Mentor) in 18th, and senior Judy Patterson (Aliquippa, Pa./Monaca Center) in 19th.  In the four thousand-meter run, B-W was led by sophomore Brooke Hradisky (Aurora), who finished fifth with a time of 16:26.81.  She was followed by senior Julie Kotesovec (Litchfield Twp./Medina Buckeye) in 14th, and freshman Bryn Allen (Chardon) in 30th.     
 
The Yellow Jackets are idle this weekend and next compete on Saturday, Sept. 10 when they travel to Delaware, Ohio to compete at the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational Meet at 10:00 a.m.
