BW Women Finish Fourth and Men are Sixth at OAC Championships

placed 15th in 23:15.2 for
the Yellow Jackets.

ADA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women’s cross country team placed fourth and the men finished sixth today (Saturday, October 29, 2011) at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University.  

The BW women scored 106 points and placed fourth of 10 total teams. The Yellow Jacket men had 161 points to place sixth of 10 OAC schools.

The women were led by junior Sarah Rospert (Milan/ Edison) as she placed 13th of 157 total runners and completed the 6K course in 23:11.4. She was followed in the top on the team by junior Shaina Kovatch (Parma/ Valley Forge) in 15th place in 23:15.2, junior Lauren McGaughey (Allison Park, Pa./ Hampton) in 21st place in 23:26.9, junior Tess Hoogeveen (Westerville/ South) in 26th place in 23:57.0 and sophomore Brooke Hradisky (Aurora) was 31st in 24:06.7.

In addition, sophomore Jamie Clapacs (Willoughby Hills/ South) was 42nd in 24:28.1, sophomore Lauren Hutka (North Ridgeville/ Grafton Midview) was 59th in 25:13.8, sophomore Blair Vrcan (Mentor) was 72nd in 25:38.6, senior Lynne Fahy (Ontario, N.Y,/ Wayne Central) in 78th in 25:47.8,  senior Judy Patterson (Alquippa, Pa./ Monaca Center) placed 88th in 26:08.1 and senior Julie Kotesovec (Litchfield Township/ Medina Buckeye) placed 110th in 26:45.3.

The Yellow Jacket men were led by junior Ken Janosko (Mentor), who was the individual runner-up of 156 runners as he completed 8k course in 25:44.8. He was followed in the Yellow Jacket top five by junior Nick Jeffers (South Amherst/ Firelands) in 36th place in 27:15.0, senior Thomas Wilkin (Powell/ Olentangy Liberty) in 46th in 27:30.6, freshman Greg Blevins (Mentor) in 50th in 27:32.8, senior Drew Beck (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua Academy) in 53rd place in 27:39.0 and junior Davis Gerding (Strongsville) was 57th in 27:44.4.
In addition, sophomore Dusan Vasic (Broadview Heights/ Brecksville-Broadview Heights) was 62nd in 27:48.5, senior Zach Szablewski (Tiffin/ Calvert) in 77th place in 28:10.3, freshman Isaac Baker (Lithia, Fla./ Newsome) in 83rd place in 28:17.5, sophomore Stephen Humbert (Middletown/ Lakota East) in 95th place in 28:39.9, senior Michael Sisko (Olmsted Falls) in 97th place in 28:46.2, senior Brian Gibbons (Rocky River) in 125th place in 29:35.3, senior Justin Brown (Sandusky) in 137th place in 30:40.8 and junior Ryan Fallow (Medina) finished in 149th in 31:56.7.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, November 12 when they travel to Oberlin, Ohio to compete at the 2011 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Meet at 11:00 a.m.
