Baldwin Wallace University Women's Cross Country Team Places Fifth While the
Men's Team Places Sixth at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships
WESTERVILLE, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country team placed fifth, while the men placed sixth at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships held at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio.
Crossing the finish-line first for the Yellow Jackets was junior Megan Via (Brookville) in thrid place with a time 22:39 on the 6000-meter course. Coming in next for the team was freshman Ashley Scullion (Kentwood, Mich.) in sixth place with a time of 22:46. Coming across the finish-line together were sophomore Kristen Balough (Loveland) and sophomore Amy Jenkins (Oak Harbor) placing 26th with a time of 24:16 and 27th with a time of 24.18, respectfully. Finishing out the top five for the team was junior Rihana Knotts (Middletown/ Madison) with a 38th place finish and a time of 24:51.
For the men's team, sophomore Josh Biggs (North Royalton) was the first to cross the line for the Yellow Jackets with a fourth place finish and a time of 25:09 on the 8000-meter course. Finishing second for the team was sophomore D.J. Hanigosky (North Royalton/ St. Ignatius) with a 17th place finish in a time of 26:20. Coming in thrid for the team was freshman Derek Hill (Fremont) with a 35th place finish in a time of 27:15. Finishing out the top five were sophomore Aaron Apathy (Parma/ Padua) with a 48th place finish in a time of 27:34 and freshman Nate Bowen (Fremont) with a 70th place finish in a time of 28:18.
The teams will next compete at the NCAA Regional Cross Country Championship Meet held in Wilmington on Saturday, November 12 at 11:00 a.m.
