Baldwin Wallace’s D’Arcy Hlavin Named OAC Cross Country Runner of the Year
BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University junior D’Arcy Hlavin (Berea) has been named the 2008 Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Year today (December 9, 2008).
Hlavin captured the OAC individual championship at the conference meet in Marietta on November 1 with a time of 23:10.18. She then qualified for Division III Nationals with a 17th-place finish (23:10.16) at the Great Lakes Regional held in Westerville on November 15. Running alongside of senior teammate Ashley Scullion (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood), Hlavin placed 182nd at nationals in Hanover, Indiana.
Hlavin is the 11th BW runner all-time to claim the individual OAC championship and runner of the year award.
