BEREA, OHIO — The Baldwin-Wallace College sophomore Kim Chinn (Zanesville/ West Muskingum) is this week’s Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Chinn earned the honor for her efforts at the season-opening (Saturday, August 30, 2008) and Annual Bill Sudeck Case Western Reserve University Invitational Meet at the Squire Farms in Hunting Valley, Ohio. At the CWRU Meet, she led the Yellow Jackets to a fifth place finish as a team as she completed the 5K course in 19:17.00 overall and placed fourth individually of 139 total runners.
Last fall, Chinn was a key member of B-W’s 2007 OAC-champion cross country team, earned All-OAC accolades in three events (second in the 1-mile run, second in the 1000-meter run and first as a member of the distance medley relay team) as she helped the indoor track team win the 2008 OAC Indoor Meet title and earned All-OAC honors in three events (second in both the 800 and 1500-meter runs and first as a member of the 3200-meter relay team) as B-W finished second at the 2008 OAC Outdoor Championship Meet.
Next Saturday, September 6, the Yellow Jackets travel to Hanover, Indiana to compete at the Hanover College Invitational Meet at 11:00 a.m. Hanover also will be the site of the 2008 NCAA Division III National Championship Meet on November 22.
