Baldwin-Wallace's Kim Chinn Earns OAC Women's Cross Country Honors for Second Consecutive Week
BEREA, OHIO — Baldwin-Wallace College sophomore Kim Chinn (Zanesville/ West Muskingum) is the Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Chinn took the individual title in the 5k at Hanover College in Indiana this past Saturday (September 6, 2008). Her time of 19:09.82 bettered those of the other 119 runners in the competition and gave the sophomore her first career individual title. The Yellow Jackets finished third out of 11 teams competing at the same course that will host the 2008 Division III National Championship.
Chinn earned the honor last week at the season-opening (Saturday, August 30, 2008) and Annual Bill Sudeck Case Western Reserve University Invitational Meet at the Squire Farms in Hunting Valley, Ohio. At the CWRU Meet, she led the Yellow Jackets to a fifth place finish as a team as she completed the 5K course in 19:17.00 overall and placed fourth individually of 139 total runners.
Next Saturday, September 13, the Yellow Jackets travel to Bowling Green, Ohio to compete at the Mel Brodt Invitational at Bowling Green State University at 2:00 p.m.
