Baldwin Wallace University Baseball Team Defeats Oberlin College, 10-0, in Oberlin

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University Yellow Jacket baseball team defeated Oberlin College, 10-0, today at Dill Field in Oberlin. With the victory, the Yellow Jackets are now 18-12 overall and snap their two-game losing steak. With its loss, Oberlin is now 8-17 overall.

BW scored runs in the second, fourth, fifth, eighth and ninth innings, on their way to the victory. On the mound, senior righthander Ryan Petrusky (Bellefontaine) pitched eight shutout innings allowing only four hits and striking out seven in route to the first shutout of his career. Freshman Chris Anderson (Bellefontaine) pitched a scoreless ninth in relief.

The Yellow Jacket hitting attack was led by sophomore second baseman Mike Turchan (Mayfield) and senior designated hitter Jason Elias (Warren)Turchan had four hits including his fifth home run of the season, scored three runs and drove in four more.  Elias went three for four on the day with a run scored and an RBI.  Junior third baseman Ryan Petraitis (Clinton/ Manchester) added two hits and two RBI for the Yellow Jackets.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action tomorrow when they host first place Heidelberg College in a key OAC doubleheader at Heritage Field starting at 1:00.  The Jackets will also host Wilmington on Saturday, April 26th in another OAC doubleheader also starting at 1:00 p.m.
