BEREA, OHIO-- Koler, a business administration and accounting major, ended his brilliant four-year Yellow Jacket baseball career last Saturday when B-W swept OAC rival Capital University in Berea, 5-1 and 3-1.
Koler earned the OAC Pitcher of the Week accolade for leading B-W to victories against Wilmington College (8-1) on Monday, May 4 and versus Capital (5-1). For the week, Koler threw two complete-games, spanning 14 innings, allowing nine base hits, two runs (one earned), striking out 19 batters and walking four others. The two wins, helped Koler to improve this season to 5-1 overall and lower his earned run average to a team-low 1.78 overall.
In beating Wilmington last Monday, Koler allowed five base hits, one earned run, struck out seven and walked three. Against Capital, he tossed a five-hitter, allowed an unearned run, struck out 12 and walked one. For his career, Koler finished 23-10 overall with two saves and a 3.93 earned run average. He is the winninest pitcher in Yellow Jacket history. He struck out 258 batters in 235 and two-third innings pitched.
