BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University sophomore centerfielder Nolan Neuschaefer (Elyria/ Senior) has been named to the 2011 All-Ohio Athletic Conference baseball team. Neuschaefer was tabbed as an honorable mention selection.

Neuschaefer started all 34 games in center field for BW this spring and helped the Yellow Jackets to a 17-17 overall record.  Batting in the leadoff spot, he led BW in several offensive categories including batting average (.308), hits (37), at-bats (120), triples (six), runs scored (33), slugging percentage (.442), on-base percentage (.401), total bases (53), stolen bases (16) and hit by pitch (nine). 

He also added four doubles and 11 runs batted-in at the plate. In the field, Neuschaefer made only one error in 86 chances and had a .988 fielding percentage.

“We are pleased that Nolan received this recognition from the coaches in the Ohio Athletic Conference,” said first-year Head Coach Brian Harrison. “Nolan is one of a number of exciting young men who are a part of our baseball program. We all learned a great deal together this year."

Nolan has outstanding bat control that is aided by his ability to run well, both in center field and on the base paths,” continued Harrison. “He is deserving of his honor. We look forward to welcome Nolan back next fall as a team leader.”

In just two seasons, Neuschaefer is hitting .321 (80-for-249) with 10 doubles, 10 triples, 27 RBI, 77 runs scored and 29 steals. Last year, he was named the BW Baseball Outstanding Freshman and recieved the team’s Gold Glove Award.
