Assistant Coach Jerry Cowley

Jerry Cowley is entering his first season on the Baldwin Wallace College coaching staff in 2011-12 and will coach the Yellow Jacket infielders, as well as helping out offensively as the third base coach.

Cowley joins to the College with nearly 20 years of coaching experience, including in 2011 as an assistant coach with Medina Highland High School. Before coaching at Medina Highland, Cowley spent twelve years at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (CVCA) High School and was there head coach for ten (2001-10). During his time there, Cowley turned CVCA’s program into a consistent winner as the Royals won four conference titles, four sectional titles, and two district championships. He coached 26 players that went on to careers in the collegiate ranks.

Cowley has also served as a collegiate level head coach with Athletes in Action, a Christian-based organization, in both the New York Collegiate Baseball League summer league, and in the Dominican Republic, where he has traveled on baseball related trips seven times.

Cowley played his college baseball at Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Messiah in 1990 with an undergraduate degree in Marketing. Cowley holds a Masters Degree in Education from Kent State (’00), and currently teaches Business and Economics at CVCA.  

Cowley earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Messiah College (Pa.) and a Master of Education degree from Kent State University.
