Jill Smith Sooy

Jill Smith '97 was a standout out student-athlete, competing in both basketball and volleyball as an undergraduate. She still holds a number of B-W women’s basketball records including most career points (1,610), most free throws made (348) and attempted (424). In addition, she holds four of 10 of the top seasonal scoring percentages in B-W history. Among her honors were three-time All-OAC First Team and All-OAC All-Academic First Team. She was a First-Team District GTE Academic All-American for two years. She also was an honorable mention Division III All American and an Academic All-OAC selection in volleyball.
Regularly on the Dean’s List, Jill carried a 3.9 grade point average and was inducted into several academic honoraries.
In addition, Jill worked in B-W’s office of Financial Aid for more than two years.
