Paul "Sparky" Adams

The legendary Paul “Sparky” Adams ’43 was one of the most successful coaches in Baldwin Wallace University history. Adams coached the Yellow Jacket cross country and track & field programs from 1951 to 1983 and led 23 BW teams to Ohio Athletic Conference Championships. “Sparky” mentored 37 All-American student-athletes and was elected as the Cleveland Track Association Man of the Year in 1971.
Adams, who was a multi-sport athlete as a student at BW, also served as President of the NCAA College Division Cross Country Coaches Association and the NCAA College Division Track Coaches Association.
