Women's Pole Vault
Notes: Moravian senior Anna Heim set an NCAA Divison III meet record, clearing 13 feet, six and one half inches, winning the women's pole vault. North Central senior Rachel Secrest, last year's national champion, finished second with a mark of 13'2.50", also bettering her meet record from last year.
Anna Heim Quotes
A few thoughts about the progression over the past few years: It feels really good. I come into the meet with high expectations after finishing third two years ago and second last spring. This is my last competition of my collegiate career, and everything has come together this year after winning the national title indoors.
Is this what you dreamed of when you began this year? I always wanted to jump at least 13 feet. That was my goal coming into my freshman year four years ago. This year it was 14 feet, and I am so glad I definitely got closer to that as the year has gone on.
About nearly clearing that 14 foot mark: I was so happy I got 139, and I knew that I was close to the Olympic B standard. I didnt want to know what my final jump was that I attempted as I wanted to be surprised. I was very happy with my performance today.
