Kailey Honn Quotes
Differences between last year’s national meet and here today: “Last year I came in and I finished 12th and I didn’t jump really well at all. Last year, I was really nervous, warmed up way too fast, and it really hurt me in the end. This year, I focused on my jumps a lot more, and really didn’t involve myself in where I was or what I was doing. I have definitely matured since last year. “
What her expectations were height-wise coming in: “I expected to at least go to my personal record which was 1.71 meters and I was shooting for that. That was my PR until today when I cleared 1.73. I wanted to get 1.75 today, but I didn’t quite get there. Hopefully, in the future since I am only a junior, I can achieve that goal.”
Since you were the only one to clear 1.73 meters, what was your next height?“I went after 1.76. The first two attempts I was not so close. But, the third one I was right there.”
