Women's 100-Meter Dash

Notes: The College of New Jersey junior Miriam Khan won the 100-meter dash national title with a stadium record time of 11.67 seconds (wind-aided). It was the third fastest performance of all-time in Division III. Illinois Wesleyan senior Amanda LaRocca was second in 11.77 after finishing third last year. Teammate sophomore Shavantay Thomas was third in 11.83.

Your mindset headed into today’s event and how that transpired for you:“I figured this would probably be my last meet. I knew that I had to win, and I had to do whatever I had to do to win. I was concerned though because I am coming back and recovering from a pulled hamstring. I hadn’t raced at all in over a week, and I had barely run to get ready for today. So, I had to be confident in all the work I had put into it up to that point.”
What it means to post the third-fastest Division III time in history? “I had no idea! It truly does mean a lot to me. I feel proud of myself and my team and my coach. I’m just really happy!”
