Eric Flores Quotes
Your thoughts on how you felt today after establishing a new Division III record a few weeks ago: “We have to take things bit by bit, and we have to break things down in terms of technique. I felt pretty good today. I didn’t feel exactly where I needed to be. I worked hard to get to this point, and I really want to continue to progress and continue to improve with each throw I make. “
How he qualified for the NAIA Championships previously and how that experience carried into today: “At the NAIA level as with any level, there are a lot of very good student-athletes that are throwers. That’s the thing with throwers. We want to succeed, and we want everyone to succeed. We are always supportive of each other, and we try to help each other out. There are a lot more rules and regulations at this level which is a very good thing. It makes it much harder to qualify, and in turn makes the student-athletes that much harder to beat on any given day.”
His outlook the rest of the weekend and on track and field in general: “As far as track and field goes, I would love to be able to throw at a world-class level. I would love to be considered that. When it comes down to it, you know I have to take small jumps. When it comes down to it, hopefully 68 meters is my next goal, and I can continue to improve from there.”
