Four Baldwin-Wallace Student-Athletes Named Women’s Academic All-OAC At-Large

BEREA, OHIO – Four Baldwin-Wallace College female student-athletes were named to the 2008-2009 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference At-Large team. Senior tennis player Alyssa Trampert (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) was tabbed as an Academic All-OAC selection while three others earned honorable mention status. The At-Large category covers the sports of golf, tennis and swimming.

B-W’s honorable mention selections included swimming seniors Kelly Frahlich (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) and Kate Ritchey (White Oak, Pa./McKeesport Area) and sophomore tennis player Katy Marshall (Medina/Senior).

Trampert is a health and physical education major with a 3.511 grade point average. She was also named honorable mention All-OAC for the second straight season in 2009.  Trampert posted a 20-7 overall record competing at number five singles in 2008-09 and compiled an outstanding 48-19 singles record in four seasons. Trampert is also a Dean’s List Student and was awarded the B-W Female Clyde Lamb Award, symbolic of the most outstanding female student-athlete.

Frahlich is a communications/public relations major with a 3.503 GPA.  She served as a team captain in 2008-09 and earned three varsity letters during her career.  This season, Frahlich posted career-best times in the 200-yard freestyle (2:07.43) and the 200 Individual Medley (2:27.96).  She is a Dean’s List student and a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society.

Ritchey is a mathematics education major with a 3.524 GPA.  Ritchey earned four varsity letters and also served as a team captain in 2008-09.  She was a member of the OAC Champion 200-yard freestyle relay team as a freshman in 2005-06.  Ritchey posted team-best times in the 50-yard freestyle (26.08), 50-yard butterfly (30.76) and 100-yard IM (1:09.91) this season. She is also a Dean’s List Student.

Marshall is psychology major who carries a 3.758 GPA. She tallied a 17-10 overall record at number six singles in 2008-09, including a perfect 9-0 mark in OAC action.  She also played on B-W’s number one doubles tandem, which finished the season 17-14 overall.  Marshall is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta and Psi Chi Honor Societies.
