Five Baldwin-Wallace Student-Athletes Named Men’s Academic All-OAC At-Large
BEREA, OHIO – Five Baldwin-Wallace College male student-athletes were named to the 2008-2009 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference At-Large team. Junior and sophomore golfers Nick Bryan (Zanesville/ Rosecrans) and Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./ Mars Area) were each tabbed as Academic All-OAC selections while three others earned honorable mention status. The At-Large category covers the sports of golf, tennis, swimming and wrestling.

B-W’s honorable mention selections included swimming junior Vince Colwell (Parma/ Normandy), swimming sophomore Matt Diamond (Ashtabula/ Lakeside) and wrestling senior Scott Haber (Brookpark/ Parma Normandy).
Bryan, also a 2007-08 Academic All-OAC At-Large selection, is a biology major with a 3.79 grade point average. He placed in a tie for ninth at the 2009 OAC Championships and earned All-OAC honors for the second time in his career. Bryan led B-W with a 75.24 stroke average in 13 tournaments and 25 rounds of golf this season. He is a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Dayton C. Miller Honor Society.
Routhieaux is an accounting/marketing double-major with an outstanding 3.975 GPA. He averaged 79.17 strokes per round this season and carded a career-best 72 at the 2008 Muskingum Fall Invitational. Routhieaux is also a member of the Dayton C. Miller Honor Society.
Colwell is a middle childhood education major with a 3.347 GPA. He set an OAC Championships record by swimming the 100-yard backstroke in 53.62 seconds and placed third in the 50-yard freestyle (21.50). Colwell was also a part of the conference champion 200-yard medley relay team and the 400-yard medley team that placed second. Colwell is a Dean’s List student.
Diamond is a business administration/marketing major with a 3.617 GPA. He earned All-OAC honors with the second-place 200-yard medley relay team at the OAC Championships and was a member of the second-place and school-record breaking 400 medley relay team. Individually, Diamond clocked a team-best 53.19 100-yard butterfly. He is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.
Haber is a Spanish education major with a 3.397 GPA. He earned his fourth varsity letter as B-W’s starting 157-pounder. He posted four wins, seven takedowns and 21 escapes. Haber is a member of the Sigma Delta Pi Honor Society.
