MIT Women’s Cross Country In Pursuit of National Title

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT student-athletes have always been among the best and brightest competitors in collegiate athletics, dating back to the days of Henry Steinbrenner ’27, who collected the Institute’s first-ever National Championship in track and field during his senior year. Since then, MIT has sponsored 32 individual national champions, seen 638 student-athletes garner All-America honors and produced 156 Academic All-America’s, the all-time leader in Division III. The State of Ohio is Well-Represented at NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship Meet

BEREA, OHIO --  When it comes to the sport of NCAA Division III cross country, the state of Ohio does not lack for either outstanding student-athletes, teams or competition. Those facts will be in full display this Saturday, November 21 when Baldwin-Wallace College and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission host the 2009 NCAA Division III National Championship Meet at Highland Park Golf Course in Cleveland, Ohio. Obstacles haven’t kept UWS runner from nationals

Jason Lindelof’s two-story Duluth home was considered a total loss in an August fire started by a toaster. The Wisconsin-Superior student from Woodbury, Minn., had to live in hotel rooms for three weeks and, more recently, has rented a room in Lakeside. While going to school, Lindelof also works 30 to 40 hours on weekends as a delivery driver for Beijing Restaurant on East Superior Street to help with mortgage payments while insurance claims are sorted out. Edgewood College's Williams makes history

After shattering his own school record in the 8,000 meters Saturday at the NCAA Midwest Regional at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, the Edgewood College freshman had to wait until Sunday to learn if his 24th-place finish was good enough to garner a berth into the NCAA Division III men's cross country championships. Susquehanna Cross Country Teams Honor Fallen Friend

Both SU's men's and women's teams honored a close friend of junior Mike Harahan (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) by wearing "RM" on their jerseys. Ryan McCall, a senior with the University of Tampa's men's cross country squad, was killed during a robbery attempt earlier this summer. Harahan was with McCall at the time of the incident. Michelle Wallace (Emerson, NJ/Emerson) is a Health and Exercise Science major and member of the women’s cross country team at The College of New Jersey. She is a TCNJ Scholar Athlete and an NJAC All-Conference cross country and indoor/outdoor track performer. Marci Klimek Rises to the Occasion

Linfield's Marci Klimek (Sr., Phoenix, Ore.) did just that, winning the six-kilometer race at the 2009 Northwest Conference Championships on Halloween Day in a time of 21 minutes, 50.8 seconds.
