8,000m Course Description
Two starting lines: The two groups will run separately until they merge at about 300M. The course width will be 20M. The course runs straight until the first sweeping dogleg turn at 400M. The course then straightens out for 230M where the first narrow portion of the course will be 10M wide for three strides and will open back up to 20M wide. Continue straight across the fairway to a sharp and 90 degree turn on a side-hill at 850M. The course goes downhill to the first K (1000M). At the bottom of the hill, the course turns left for about 120M, and then makes a right turn over a bridge (7M wide) at 1170M. The course goes straight for 130M and makes a sweeping right turn and heads up a 30M hill to the 1 mile mark. The course goes straight for 500M and just after the 2K makes an easy turn to the right going downhill for about 290M. At the bottom of the hill, you turn left along a creek going straight for another 320M. A right turn takes you across a bridge (7M wide) and another right turn takes you back along the other side of the creek passing the 3K mark on the way to the 2 mile mark. Another 100M brings you to a left turn uphill for 190 M. You enter another fairway by passing through an opening in the trees where you make a right turn. The course crosses the fairway and goes up a slight up-hill for 80M. The course does a 200M loop across the fairway at the 4K mark and back before it straightens out for 240M. This is the intersection between the Women’s course and the Men’s course. The men’s course turns right and crosses a bridge (6M wide) at 450M.
The course runs up a gentle hill and goes straight to the 5K mark by a row of pine trees on the western edge of the golf course. A left turn will take the runners straight for 130M. The course turns right into the right side of another fairway for 350M. The course turns left for 520M following the edge of the course. A left turn just after the 6K mark at the 9th tee follows the right side of the fairway for 390M until you reach the 8th tee. The course turns left and goes downhill for 200M where it flattens out for 130M to the bridge (7M wide). The course turns left for about 120M and a right turn then has the runners repeat the course that they took at the start. The course goes uphill for 200M passing the 7K mark and makes a sharp left turn to cross the fairway. Running straight for 220M brings you to the 10M narrow gap. The course goes straight for another 230M and makes a sweeping left turn. A straight course leads you past a big tree on the left and straight into the finish line which is located beyond the starting line.
