Three Baldwin Wallace University Spring Sport Student-Athletes are Tabbed as
Ohio Athletic Conference Players of the Week
BEREA, OHIO -- Three Baldwin Wallace Colleg e spring sport student-athletes have been tabbed as Ohio Athletic Conference Players of the Week as the OAC releases its first weekly update today (Monday, March 21, 2005).
Senior lefthanded baseball pitcher Aaron Krieger (Bellefontaine) is the OAC Pitcer of the Week. He tossed a five-hit shutout in a 4-0 win against Dominican (Ill.) University on March 8. In nine innings of work on BW’s annual spring break trip to Ft. Myers, Florida, Krieger allowed seven hits, four runs, five walks and allowed no earned runs. He was 1-1 overall.
Krieger and the Yellow Jackets are back in action this Saturday (March 26) when they open Ohio Athletic Conference play at Mount Union College with a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader.
Freshman number two singles player James Daly (Akron/ Firestone) is the OAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week. He had a perfect 6-0 record in both singles and doubles play on BW’s annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina. On the year, Daly is 16-2 in singles play and 13-1 at No.2 doubles along with partner and senior Adam Slobodnick. A year ago, Daly was an OHSAA state qualifier at Firestone
Daly and the defending OAC-champion Yellow Jacket tennis team, 11-0 overall and owners of an OAC-record 33-match winning streak, is back in action this Saturday (March 26) when it hosts OAC arch-rival Mount Union College at the "Pop" Collins Tennis Complex in Berea at 1:00 p.m.
Sophomore number one singles and doubles standout Andrea Isaac (New Philadelphia) is the OAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week. She had a perfect 12-0 mark between No.1 singles (5-0) and No.1 doubles (7-0) on BW’s annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina. Isaac was the 2004 OAC Player of the Year and had a 19-1 singles record as a freshman. She was the first freshman to ever win the OAC award as well as the first BW women’s player to be so honored. Isaac also was an OAC Player of the Week a year ago.
In less than two seasons, Isaac has a 30-5 career mark with an .833 winning percentage, including an 11-4 mark at No.1 singles this season.
Isaac and the BW women are back in action on Tuesday (March 22) when they travel to Alliance to open OAC play against arch-rival Mount Union College at 3:30 p.m.
