What have you learned while teaching at B-W?:
The opportunity to teach the wide variety of courses that I do here constantly keeps me learning and wanting to continue research.
What inspired you to get into college teaching?:
My mentor professors for my Ph.D encouraged me.
Describe the ways in which you mentor students interested in your department:
I encourage them to stop by my office often, share career possibilities, internships, and I really get to know interested students leisure activities and club/organization interests. Ex. because of my interest and involvement with the Olympics I encourage potential students that is something they can get involved with in HPE department.
If you weren't teaching what would you be doing?:
I’d probably be a college student (every time one of my students reports on an internship I say to them, wow, I’d like to do that!) I’d also travel and camp.
What do students like best about your class?:
The diversity of assignments and activities related to the goals and objectives of the class; hands on learning and inclusion of potential careers/jobs related to each of the classes.
