Applying For Aid:

If you wish to take advantage of the financial assistance that is available to you, we suggest the following steps:

Step One:  Apply to Baldwin-Wallace College.  (We can only offer financial aid awards to accepted students.)

Step Two:  If you don't have a PIN (Personal Identification Number), you should apply for one at: http://www.pin.ed.gov/ Your PIN is needed in order to electronically sign your FAFSA. (If you are a dependent student, your parents will also need a PIN to electronically sign the FAFSA.)

Step Three:  Use the Web Pre-Application Worksheet, so that you will be prepared to file the FAFSA.

Step Four:  After January 1, 2008, file the FAFSA by linking to the site provided by the Department of Education:www.fafsa.ed.gov/ When you complete the FAFSA, you should include B-W's Federal School Code ( 003014 ), so that we can access the results.

Step Five:  After reviewing the results from your FAFSA, we will determine the financial aid that you are eligible to receive and send you an aid award. You will receive a copy of your aid award letter in the mail, but your financial aid award will also be available online through our Your Electronic Award (YEA) system.

Step Six:  Review your financial aid award and read about the assistance that is available to you. If you wish to apply for any of the loans in your financial aid package, you should make certain to complete the appropriate forms. (All Stafford, BW PLUS, and alternative loans require separate applications.) It is best to apply for loans when you are officially registered for classes.

In addition... Apply for outside scholarships. (You should never pay money for a scholarship search, because the same resources are available free of charge.) Here are three free scholarship sites to start your search:

College Answer
BrokeScholar
