Scholarships for Transfer and Evening/Weekend Students

Transfer Scholar's Award Scholarships range from $5,000- $8,500 depending on academic achievement. For students who have been out of high school one academic year or less, the Scholarship Committee feels strongly that both high school and college achievement be acknowledged as part of the review process. Students must have a cumulative high school GPA of at least a 3.30 and be in the top 25% of their high school graduating class, as well as have a college cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 for consideration. Students who have been out of high school for more than one academic year must have a minimum college GPA of 3.00 for consideration. Transfer Scholars Awards are for full-time students and are renewable up to four years based on good academic and social standing.

B-W Associate's Award Awarded to full-time transfer students with an approved Associate's degree from Cuyahoga Community College, Lorain County Community College or Lakeland Community College and has earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75. The award is $1,000 and may be combined with the Transfer Scholar's Award.

Alumni Award Awarded to children and grandchildren of Baldwin-Wallace College graduates. This $2,000 award is for full-time students and is renewable up to four years based on good academic and social standing.

Sibling Award Awarded to siblings who reside in the same household and are both enrolled full-time at B-W. This award is $2,000 (per sibling) and is renewable up to four years based on good academic and social standing.

Heritage Award Awarded to admitted full-time students who will enrich the College's cultural diversity. Students out of high school less than a year must have earned a 3.3 GPA, be in the top 25% of their high school graduating class and have earned a college GPA of 2.75. Students out of high school more than one year must have earned a college GPA of at least a 3.0. This award is $4,000 and is renewable up to four years based on good academic and social standing.

Ohio Transfer Council Scholarship The Ohio Transfer Council awards $2,000 scholarships to part-time and full-time students transferring to/from approved Ohio colleges and universities. For more information on these scholarships, go to:

Alpha Sigma Lambda (ASL) Scholarship Alpha Sigma Lambda national honor society for Evening/Weekend students. The B-W chapter offers four scholarships (each worth three semester hours of credit) to current Evening/Weekend students with a minimum GPA of 3.2 and 12 graded hours at B-W. A letter of recommendation from a faculty member is required. Some consideration will be given for need. Current students will be contacted regarding application status (based on eligibility) during the spring semester. For more information, contact the Evening/Weekend Program Office at 440-826-2121.

Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR) Scholarships B-W's Institute for Learning in Retirement offers six scholarships (each worth three semester hours of credit) to current Evening/Weekend students with a minimum GPA of 3.2 and 12 graded hours at B-W. A letter of recommendation from a faculty member is required. Some consideration will be given for need. Dr. Jacob Kamm Scholarship (for Business Administration or Economics majors)
Each year, this scholarship is presented to the junior (73-94 semester hours completed through fall semester) at B-W with the highest GPA in his or her business or economics coursework.

Berea Business & Professional Women Scholarship (for women age 25 or older). A $1,000 scholarship is offered to women seeking entry or re-entry into the workforce and are pursuing a 2-year or 4-year degree at a North Central Ohio ACCREDITED College or University. Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship - Phi Theta Kappa is a national honor society for students attending two- year colleges. Recipients of this scholarship are Phi Theta Kappa members who transfer to B-W with a minimum of a 3.25 GPA.  (Students must show verification of their membership at the point of admission.) This non-renewable award is in the amount of $1000, of which $500 will be credited in the first term of enrollment and the remaining $500 will be credited in the second term.

Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund -Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund, a program of the Talbots Charitable Foundation, will award $100,000 in scholarships to women determined to finally get that college degree. Five women will each be awarded $10,000 scholarships and 50 women will each be awarded $1,000 scholarships. All applicants must be seeking an undergraduate degree from an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or vocational-technical school. Only applicants seeking a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university are eligible to receive a $10,000 award. Scholarship awards are based primarily on financial need and previous achievements for women who earned their high school diploma or GED at least 10 years ago.
