My coursework in the adult degree program at Baldwin-Wallace has enhanced my ability to communicate with clients and associates more effectively.
What has been your experience with different course formats?
I’ve taken minimester courses and found them to be a fantastic way to learn the subject matter and get credits faster. Especially as an adult student accustomed to attending day long seminars, the format of a minimester is quite effective. Prior Learning Assessment was one of the best things I’ve done at B-W! It was a good amount of work, but without it I wouldn’t be looking at graduation at least until December 2008. It really helped me to get ahead!
Why did you choose to attend the adult degree completion program at B-W?
B-W was like coming home for me. I took several years of voice lessons from an instructor in the Conservatory of Music when I was in grade school, junior high and high school. Even though my major doesn’t place me in the conservatory building for classes, the campus is still super cozy and suits me just fine. I attended Cuyahoga Community College from 1998-2000 and obtained an Associate of Arts. Because I had obtained my degree, all 62 of my credit hours transferred to B-W.
How is B-W supporting or preparing you to attain your goals?
From scheduling and program flexibility to student services and interaction with my professors, everyone has been accessible and knowledgeable in their specific area.Obtaining my Bachelor’s degree is a huge personal goal and I feel there’s nowhere I’d rather be achieving it than at B-W!
Any advice for new students?
I can’t stress enough how all of the faculty members I’ve encountered at B-W have been exceptional. My only advice for new students would be to ask a lot of questions to make sure you’re staying in line with the coursework necessary to complete your degree and enjoy the college experience provided by B-W!
