How has Baldwin-Wallace College helped you achieve your goals?
I chose B-W's adult degree completion program with one idea in mind: to graduate and earn more income to support my children’s anticipated education expenses; and to pursue a career in banking. I have far exceeded my career goals since graduation and have developed my skills in banking -- going from secretary, to Business Development Associate, to Business Development Manager and now Portfolio Manager, responsible for investments in small businesses.
What was the most important thing you learned as an adult degree student at B-W?
The type of education I received at B-W is top notch and I learned to be determined to get through the course load. That determination stays with me and has helped to boost my career.
Would you like to share an anecdote or story about your experience at B-W? I had a professor at B-W who knew of my struggles in Algebra and Statistics. My fear was great and this almost deterred me from seeking a career in Business. In several conversations she boosted my self-esteem and after graduation she sent me a beautiful email about a caterpillar evolving into a beautiful butterfly. To this day, when I have challenges, I wear a butterfly pin to remind me that I can do anything with determination.
