Biography
I am the president of the Black Student Alliance organization on campus as well as an MNM (Midnight Madness) staff member. I am also an acting mentor in a mentoring program directed by a fellow BW student. I also attend Campus Crusade for Christ meetings weekly!
Questions and answers
Why did you choose to attend Baldwin-Wallace?
I choose BW because of the small, community feel of the campus. I have found BW's small size to be an advantage in my college experience because it's easy to keep in touch with friends even though this year I don't have a lot of classes with them. I always see them in the union or just walking around campus! Also, it's really easy to find campus resources (learning center, health center,etc..) and to utilize them!
What is your favorite thing about BW?
My favorite thing about BW is how accessible everything and everyone is. If you need something, you can easily find out who to talk to, and they're more than happy to help you out. I've even stopped by the office of the Dean of Students this year!
What has BW helped you learn about yourself?
It's helped me to expand my understanding of diversity even more. The school district I graduated high school from is very diverse in its ethnic and cultural makeup. Diversity is not just a matter of ethnicity though, it's also one of perspective and experience. BW is working on this facet of our community and I've seen growth even since last year!
What advice would you give to prospective students?
Concerning BW, I would say to get yourself acquainted with different groups of people and individuals. I've meet a ton of people here, and with our small size there's really no reason not to expand your social circle.
