I got the rare opportunity on Saturday morning to participate in an OCO Service Event with the Ronald McDonald House. We volunteered at a race at the galleria in downtown Cleveland in which the participants had to climb up 37 flights of stairs. All of the proceeds of the race went to the Ronald McDonald Foundation of Cleveland. This organization provides parents of children sick in the hospital with a place to stay close to where they are staying.
This is a great charity to raise money for. I really enjoyed cheering on the runners. I have never been part of such a unique event. I can’t wait for the next OCO event when I can volunteer and give back to the community. I hope that many more Baldwin Wallace students sign up for these events in the future because it is really important to get out of campus for a couple of hours and give back to the community.
