RA Winter Training

Before each semester, the resident assistants of Baldwin Wallace get back together to train for the next semester. We are required to arrive on campus five days earlier than the rest of the student body and sit through power point presentations, activities and training procedures to improve our performance in the position. Sometimes it can be a drag, but sometimes we do fun things like karaoke and staff lunches.

The application deadline for new RAs is approaching fast, so most of the training time was used to strategize how we are going to attract students to apply. We had a record number of applications for our midyear RA applications. Our area coordinators said that this was very much due to the efforts of the RA staff in promoting the position. I like being an RA! It’s a great opportunity to gain experience and save some money at school.
