6. Biography

   During my 4 years at BW, I was heavily involved in the campus radio station, WBW. From a DJ Trainee, to DJ, Production Director, Program Director and eventually General Manager, WBW helped me learn the ins and outs of a legitimate radio station; not just another "college" station.

   By having an Alternative Rock format, WBW was able to train and prepare students (including myself) for a future in media arts. This experience, coupled with the knowledge learned through other related programs including Theater and Film, i was prepared to enter into my current position as a Production Specialist, editing video and producing motion graphics for major Fortune-500 companies.

   In addition to WBW, I was involved with several on-campus events. The preparation from WBW gave me the experience necessary to act as Host for several different BW events from Greek Life, MNM, and several other organizations.

   Currently, I am employed at Hanson Inc in Toledo, OH, as a Production Specialist. On a daily basis, I concept new projects, do quite a bit of video editing and also am fluent in several motion graphics software packages.

What is your favorite thing about BW?

I liked the ability to take my own path and experience college, and not just learn in a classroom. The hands on training and opportunities at BW were fantastic, and truly allowed me to flex my creative muscle while preparing me for the future.

What advice would you give to prospective students?

Don't just do your work, experience it. Get involved as much as you can. Four years of undergrad fly by, and you dont want to look back wishing you would've done more.

How did BW help you prepare for life after college?

Hands on learning really prepared me to enter into the real world. I had more than book smarts, and also ended up meeting alot of people through the Broadcasting program, many of which i still communicate with today.

What would you have changed about your undergraduate experience?

I would've spent more time working through the Business Administration program to get more than just a minor.
