Human Resources Management
I am the youngest of five and the first to attend college. I have always enjoyed learning and consider attending school fun. I am married with three children and two grandchildren. I work full-time and manage the care of my son, who has Cerebral Palsy, and my husband's 96 year old grandmother both of whom live with us. I work as a Compliance Auditor for a healthcare plan in Akron and recently celebrated 10 years with the company.
Questions and answers
What is your favorite thing about BW?
I have always felt that the faculty and staff genuinely care about me. All of my experiences have been very positive. Even when I have had concerns, I have never once felt as if my concern was irrelevant or ignored.
Do you have a favorite story to share so that others can get a feel for BW?
My advisor, Heather Rule, has always been a huge encouragement to me. As I have tried to balance family, work and school, there have been occasions when I felt extremely overwhelmed. There were some semesters when I felt I had taken on too much and I would lose focus on my goal. Heather would always encourage me to look beyond the current obstacle and focus on the big picture. Just talking things over with Heather always put me back on track. That is the type of personal attention and support that I experienced, not just from Heather but, from all my instructors.
