  6. Biography

During my time at BW I held an on-campus job in the Office of Admission where I was a student assistant, tour guide, and student manager for the Telecounseling Center. My other involvements included: 4 year member and Captain of the varsity swim team, Treasurer of the PR Center, Weekend of Welcome Orientation Leader, Rotaract club, Dance Marathon, ODK honorary, NSLS (National Society of Leadership and Success), and student assistant in the PR department. I also gained experience from two off-campus internships: FSN Ohio-Marketing Intern and Intern at Sonnhalter PR Agency.

After graduation, I attended The University of Akron to work on my Master's degree in Higher Education Administration. During my time at UA I was a Graduate Assistant for one year in their Admissions Office and then received a full-time position as an Admissions Counselor. Currently, I have a position as an Assistant Director of Enrollment at John Carroll University.

Questions and answers

What is your favorite thing about BW?

The relationships. Getting involved on-campus and the small class sizes allowed me to know my classmates and professors very well. Everywhere I went on campus I saw a friendly face, which made me feel a part of the institution.

What advice would you give to prospective students?

Get involved on campus, gain out of the classroom experience with internships, and network, network, network!

How did BW help you prepare for life after college?

BW taught me the value of networking. I was once told in college, "It's not what you know or who you know, but who knows you." Making connections and building relationships with professors, students, staff, and the community pays off. For example, many of my BW friends received a full-time job from a connection made during an internship. With BW's notable reputation and the hard-working skills I developed in college, I was able to reach some of my academic and professional goals shortly after graduation.

What would you have changed about your undergraduate experience?

I wish I studied abroad.
