Spring arrived in North America at 7:02 am yesterday, March 20, 2013, which makes today the first full day of spring. It was very cold and snowing yesterday, but today its REALLY cold and snowing even harder. (Sarcasm). I'm from NE Ohio about an hour and a half NE of Berea so I'm used to this weather. In fact this is why I don't complain about the weather much, as it snows even more in my hometown, which is right on the shore of Lake Erie. Earlier today it was pointed out to me that on this date last spring the temperature in Cleveland was 83 degrees. I laughed at the comment, secretly wanting to cry. I'm someone who believes that they were born in the wrong place, as I've never enjoyed winter for more than a month and tend to get depressed as the cold weather drags on. In the spring and summer however, I'm always at my best as far as mood, fitness, health, and general livelihood, which is why I am DYING for this heinous weather to end. I have a plethora of sundresses that are currently collecting dust in my closet calling my name: "Julia, wear us!" Also, I don't know how much more I can take of walking to class like a tiptoeing leprechaun, as I try to avoid falling on the ice. Being able to walk around campus in flip-flops is all I want. But, as I check my weather app, we're in for a whole lot more of the character-building cold. Joy. Somebody wake me up when Spring ACTUALLY comes.
