We officially are in the month of October! Time sure flies when you’re having fun! So at the beginning of this semester I told myself that this was the year that I would focus on being healthier and being truly fit (not just talking about it). In response to this idea, I have gained a new friend, the gym. I can always rely on it to be there for me and it’s a great stress reliever. Not only have I been spending time at the wonderful Lou Higgins rec center but also participating in group fitness activities.
Zumba is my newfound love! It gives me a feeling that I can do anything. I know it sounds crazy but it’s so true! I leave Zumba and am so motivated to accomplish whatever the world throws at me. It is a great workout but it’s also fun. The instructor is great; she incorporates upbeat songs that gives your body a workout but at the same time are enjoyable. Usually we do Zumba in the gym, but yesterday we did it in front of the Union! At first I thought to myself no way, that is too embarrassing there’s no way I’m doing that. Eventually I put my thoughts aside and decided, why not and I went for it. I’m so glad I decided to because it was the most fun I’ve ever had while doing Zumba! People walked by and some even joined us! Although I was a sweaty mess, I didn’t care what anyone thought because I was so engaged nothing else mattered. So everyone join us in the Rec center indoor track gym Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at 5:15 for a fun workout! See you all there!
