So, it's February, which means that us Music Theatre people are lining up our Summer jobs. I had been planning on returning to where I was last Summer (Timber Lake Playhouse), which is an awesome summer stock theatre in Illinois. However, I got an email on Monday saying that they may or may not be able to use me in their season. I freaked out a little bit, because had I thought it was a sure thing, and I didn't audition anywhere else. However, just as I was coming to terms with the possibility of not having summer work (today), I get a call from the artistic director saying that he needs me for several roles in the season, one of them being Cliff in the Kander and Ebb musical Cabaret, one of my ALL TIME DREAM ROLES!
Things are looking up in a big way. So, the moral of the story is: give up hope as soon as possible, so that if the situation changes, you can be ecstatic, and if it doesn't change, then you've already dealt with the worst. Just kidding!
