Baldwin Wallace University (BW) is pleased to participate in the Yellow Ribbon program and to offer eligible military veterans an opportunity to attend Baldwin Wallace University basically tuition-free.
The Yellow Ribbon GI Educational Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program) is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans’ Educational Assistance Act of 2008. BW is an accepted, eligible institution participating in the VA’s Yellow Ribbon Program. Qualifying, eligible veterans may receive 100% of BW tuition assistance through receipt of a combination of Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Benefits, the VA Yellow-Ribbon Program, and BW’s Yellow Ribbon Award Program. A veteran who is designated by the VA as qualifying for the Yellow Ribbon Program may receive 100% of their BW tuition. This tuition benefit program includes both undergraduate and graduate study and either full-time or part-time enrollment.
Are you Eligible?
You served an aggregate period of active duty after 9/11/01, of at least 36 months;
You were honorably discharged from active duty for a service connected disability and you served 30 continuous days after 9/10/01;
You are a dependent eligible for Transfer of Entitlement under the Post-9/11 GI Bill on a veteran’s service under the eligibility criteria listed above.
Only individuals entitled to the maximum benefit rate (based on service requirements) may receive this funding. Determination is made of a veteran’s eligibility by the VA and the veteran must file an online application with the VA (www.gibill.va.gov).
An eligible veteran will then receive a Certificate of Eligibility (CE) which will indicate whether the veteran meets the requirements for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible veterans wishing to enroll at BW will then need to present the CE document to the Office of Registration and Records for the school’s certification of your participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program at BW. Funds will then be received by the College’s Bursar’s Office and credited to your BW account towards tuition. Future benefits from the Yellow Ribbon Program require that the participating student must maintain satisfactory academic progress, conduct and attendance, in compliance with federal and institutional regulations and policies. The Yellow Ribbon VA benefits are applicable only for education received after August 1, 2009.
