Communication
The Evening/Weekend major in Communication is interdisciplinary in nature, drawing from coursework in communications, English, business, psychology and sociology. This major has strength in both theory and application, and is designed to prepare Evening/Weekend students for graduate school and the workplace.
Course requirements include interpersonal communication, business and professional speaking, group communications and leadership, and various applications of writing and literature. Topics from social interpretation are also included, with courses covering gender roles, intercultural communications and social inequalities.
As part of the major, students select an advanced emphasis in one of the following areas: business administration, literature, political science, psychology, religion or sociology.
