Admission to the Conservatory
The Conservatory Admission Office at Baldwin-Wallace College is happy to guide prospective music students through the application and audition process.  We want to assist you in gaining all of the information you need to make an informed decision about your college selection.  Admission to the Conservatory is a two-step process: submit the complete Baldwin-Wallace College Application (which includes the Conservatory Audition Portfolio) and perform an audition. Students may only reserve an audition date through the application process.  The application and audition fee must be postmarked by November 1 for fall audition dates; and by January 1 for spring audition dates.   Required materials include:

  • Baldwin-Wallace Application - submitted in print or online
    $25 application fee (waived if submitted online)

    3. Common Application (Click on the link to the left, complete the online audition portfolio and the supplement, place your name and date at the end of the form, and click submit when you are finished.)
  • $40 audition fee submitted with audition materials (checks made payable to Baldwin-Wallace College)
  • Official high school transcript
  • Academic teacher recommendation
  • ACT or SAT Standardized test scores (optional as of 2009 Fall and please contact the Office of Admission for more information).
  • College essay
  • Music teacher evaluation from your primary applied teacher
  • Music profile (narrative about your goals as a musician)

Admission and Notification
Students must be academically admissible to Baldwin-Wallace College to be considered for the Conservatory of Music.  All academic credentials necessary for Undergraduate Admission, as well as a completed Audition Portfolio, must be received by the indicated date.  Audition dates cannot be considered confirmed until these materials are received.

Applicants who audition for the Conservatory of Music will be notified of their admission status with the College and Conservatory by March 20.
