Theatre and Dance

An eclectic evening of original dance works inspired by 'starting anew'.
From hip hop to tap, jazz to ballet, all the works on the program have a common thread unifying them.  Each student choreographer has chosen their own approach, from exploring new movement vocabularies to working the evening's theme into the narrative of their dances.

Not only is New Beginnings the title of this production, it is a new beginning for our dance department as well. We have a wonderfully energetic and gifted new leader in Gregory Daniels and a brand new Dance Minor Curriculum that goes into effect fall of 2011. The updated Dance Minor is designed for students who are interested in considering dance as a career.  The curriculum offers many new and exciting coursed including Injury Prevention and Health in the Performing Arts and Ballet Bootcamp, as well as longer technique classes, required participation in all dance productions, backstage experience and so much more.
