Andrew May

Andrew-May.jpgAndrew May is the Associate Artistic Director of Great Lakes Theater Festival where he most recently directed A Christmas Carol. With GLTF, Andrew has performed leading roles In A Mid Summer Nights Dream, Hamlet, Tartuffe, Private Lives, Taming of the Shrew and Christmas Carol. Mr. May was the Artistic Associate of the Cleveland Play House, where he starred in over 23 productions, and was a company member of the Milwaukee Repertory Theater where he was seen in 22 productions. He has directed and performed with various theaters throughout the country and Canada including Wisdom Bridge, OrganicTheatre Co., Studio Arena, Goodman, Victory Gardens, Studio Theatre D.C., and Williamstown Theater Festival. Winner of Chicago’s Joseph Jefferson Award for his portrayal of Will Shakespeare in A Cry of Players, Mr. May was also the artistic director of Chicago’s Free Shakespeare Company, where his adaptation and direction of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales played to sold out houses for four months.

Some film/television credits include, Striking Distance, DUET, Shades of Gray , 227 and The Babe Ruth Story. Andrew has recently completed the independent film Christmas at Maxwell’s and starring in Steven Dietz’s Fiction at the City Theatre in Pittsburgh.
