Studio Art

Romanticism to futurism, cubism to minimalism and more, art is a dynamic, creative and expressive medium that melds perception with passion and innovation with imagination.

Our studio art program offers a rich and rigorous array of courses that help you develop specialized training in preparation for professional success.  You'll study the masters whose art works have impacted our lives, as well as experience your own hands-on exploration of process and technique.

BW's core curriculum—rooted in the liberal arts tradition—offers you an ideal context for learning to comprehend and critique works of art. Beyond theory, our courses are designed to be interactive and introspective—sharpening critical, analytical and integrative thinking skills.

Nearby Cleveland offers access to numerous cultural facilities, including the world-renowned Cleveland Museum of Art.  Educational field trips plus study abroad seminars and field experiences at private art galleries, auction houses and museums make learning career relevant and real.  On campus, Fawick Gallery showcases local and student talent.
