Educational Technology
B-W's MAEd in Educational Technology is designed for elementary, middle and high school teachers who want to bring the energy and innovation of technology into their classrooms. The MAEd in Educational Technology adds an endorsement to a standard teaching license. This specialization prepares teachers for the thoughtful use of technology to support teaching and learning in a range of educational environments. This specialization is available for licensed teachers, as well as students pursing an initial teaching license through the License+Master's program.
Mild/Moderate Educational Needs
This intervention specialist license is valid for teaching students Kindergarten through Grade 12. Students earning the intervention specialist license in Mild/Moderate Educational Needs may be hired to work in roles such as a cooperating teacher in an inclusive classroom, small group instructor or transition service coordinator. This specialization is available for licensed teachers, as well as students pursing an initial teaching license through the License+Master's program.
Reading
The MAEd in Reading helps teachers respond effectively to national and international concerns about the literacy achievement of students, adding a K-12 Reading endorsement to a standard teaching license. This program examines the developmental stages of reading and writing, with focus on evaluation methods and instructional approaches, diagnostic and corrective reading methods, research in literacy education, and a survey of child and adolescent literature. This specialization is available for licensed teachers, as well as students pursing an initial teaching license through the License+Master's program.
School Leadership
The MAEd in School Leadership prepares teachers for leadership opportunities in schools, and leads to the principal’s license. School Leadership is also relevant for teachers who aspire to work within a school system on curriculum design, development and reform.This program is based upon the principal standards established by ODE (Ohio Department of Education), ISLLC (Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium), and ELCC (Educational Leadership Constituent Council).
Teaching and Learning
B-W introduces this new graduate program in the Fall of 2009, Ohio Board of Regents approval pending. The MAEd in Teaching and Learning has been designed to include 21st century K-12 teaching skills and is aligned with Master Teacher Standards as set by the Ohio Department of Education. No other graduate program in the Greater Cleveland area allows students to expand their skills in so many critical areas, marking Baldwin-Wallace College as a leader in preparing truly master teachers.
