The Riemenschneider Bach Institute

The Riemenschneider Bach Institute is a renowned research center dedicated to J.S. Bach
 
Visitors are welcome and are asked to sign in with when they enter the library. The Institute houses rare items related to J. S. Bach and his circle as well as historical reference materials, scores, and a collection of classic recordings. The entry is located on the first floor of the Boesel Musical Arts Center.

HOURS: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday  9 a.m. - 4 p.m.  Fall and Spring Semesters (appointment only between semesters). Look for us on Facebook at Riemenschneider Bach Institute.

The Riemenschneider Bach Institute serves as:

  • Guardian of priceless Bach-related manuscripts and first editions 
  • Publisher of BACH: Journal of the Riemenschneider Bach Institute (a journal with subscribers in approximately 30 countries). It publishes articles and reviews written by scholars interested in J. S. Bach and his circle.
  • Supervisor of the research library and listening room.
  • Sponsor of the Riemenschneider Bach Institute Symposium

  • Provider of scholarly support for the annual Baldwin Wallace Bach Festival, the oldest collegiate Bach Festival in the United States.

This Bach Crest is a little piece of history connected to Bach at BW; it's a handmade latch hook hanging created by Susan Riemenschneider in 1979.
